Current Openings

Identity is seeking an exceptional Program Director to oversee a wide range of holistic social and emotional skill-building, academic support and leadership development programs and wraparound services such as case management, behavioral health and recreation for elementary, middle and high school students and out-of-school youth and their families in the schools, on playing fields and in the community.  To this end, the Program Director is responsible for the success of their portfolio of programs and services, ensuring high-quality management and program design, delivery, quality control, and evaluation.  The Program Director also oversees multiple grants, contracts, and budgets from government and private funders.  The Program Director is a key representative of their programs and Identity as a whole among external stakeholders.

The Program Director reports to the Executive Director and is a critical member of Identity’s Leadership Team, collaborating and coordinating with Identity’s other Program Directors so that Identity is best able to support Latino and other at-risk youth in their transition to adulthood.

Established in 1998, Identity’s mission is to create opportunities for Latino youth and their families to reach their highest potential. Identity believes that young people come first; every child has great potential; youth deserve more than one chance; and that society is enhanced by cultural diversity. Identity’s primary goal is to support our Latino youth in making a successful transition to adulthood by providing a range of services that reduce their risk factors, increase their protective factors, strengthen their social and emotional well-being and support their academic and economic achievements. Through our five Youth Centers, Identity serves all youth.

Strong applicants will have significant experience in leading, developing and managing programs and staff, be an exceptional verbal and written communicator, have an advanced degree in a relevant field and be bi-lingual English/Spanish. They will be thoroughly committed to Identity’s vision, mission, and strategy and have a sophisticated understanding of the current and historic drivers of needs in the Latino community and related issues as well as best practices in helping at-risk youth achieve their potential.

Identity, a nonprofit community-based organization serving youth and their families, is seeking a full-time Bilingual Mental Health Therapist for our young-adult students. This position is located at our Crossroads Youth Opportunity Center in Takoma Park, MD. The Mental Health Therapist performs a full range of clinical services including client assessment, development of treatment plans, individual and family counseling, and maintenance of client records.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling, required
  • Knowledge of and experience in assessment, crisis intervention, individual and family counseling, trauma-focused service delivery
  • 3-5 years of experience working with diverse populations, specifically at-risk Latino and African-American youth and families
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish required

Identity, a nonprofit community-based organization serving youth and their families, is seeking a part-time Program Facilitator for our youth and young-adult students. This position is located at Watkins Mill Wellness Center in Montgomery Village, MD. The Program Facilitator facilitates or co-facilitates various after-school programs with groups of up to 25 youth. Responsibilities include: assisting with preparing and running sessions, performing data entry, and filing and undertaking other administrative work as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Some college preferred. Additional education and training in social and human services preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish may be required.
  • Knowledge of Positive Youth Development (PYD) Model and ability to lead a group of adolescence.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish required
