Identity is very excited to announce the opening of a new Wellness Center at John F. Kennedy High School! The new center, operated in partnership with Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, 480 Club, Emerging Triumphantly and True Connection Counseling, will join Gaithersburg, Seneca Valley, Watkins Mill and Wheaton High Schools as the fifth in the county to be managed by Identity.

The school-based Health and Wellness Center is open to all students at Kennedy and offers a variety of programs and services including lunchtime and after-school programs, arts and enrichment activities, field trips, therapeutic recreation, non-clinical emotional support groups, clinical mental health support, case management services for youth and their families, and access to onsite health screening and primary care at the health clinic.

“We are so excited to work once again with our trusted partners, Identity and the Department of Health and Human Services, to bring comprehensive School Based Wellness Center services to the Kennedy High School community.” Said Dr. Patricia Kapunan, School System Medical Officer for MCPS. “On-site physical and mental health services and Positive Youth Development programming, integrated with established school supports, offer care that is easier to access, and expands students’ network of trusted adult supports. School-based health centers provide access to services simply not available to some students, and have been shown to improve physical health, mental health, and educational outcomes for all students.”

We are thrilled to welcome Kennedy into our Wellness Center family. Go Cavaliers!
