Identity’s Summer 2024 programming is well underway, offering students a season packed with fun and enriching activities! Students in Identity’s Elementary and Middle School programs got to know each other with team-building activities, sports, and arts-based exercises designed to build social-emotional skills and positive social connections. Montgomery Village Middle School kicked things off with various arts and crafts including clay modelling, while at Harriet Tubman, Whetstone and Summit Hall Elementary Schools, 2nd and 3rd graders bonded over a game about their favorite habits, setting the tone for a week filled with creativity and learning.

Our high school summer programs are also in full swing, with afternoon enrichment activities – from meditation and self-care workshops to high ropes and whitewater rafting – for students from Gaithersburg, Watkins Mill and Wheaton High Schools enrolled in the MCPS 21st Century Learning Center summer school program. Meanwhile, Bridge to Wellness High Schoolers are participating in activities such as science experiments, art therapy, and outdoor field trips including to the Smithsonian National Zoo. Throughout July, Identity’s Workforce Development team is also offering virtual and in-person job and college readiness workshops to ease the transition to higher education or work.

As August approaches, activities will continue with film festivals, karaoke, and Back-to-School Nights to wrap up a memorable summer. Identity’s commitment to building social and emotional skills and caring human connections shines through, ensuring youth find inspiration and belonging this summer.
