In June, 100 job-seekers and eight employers made real connections during Identity’s first in-person Job Fair. Employer representatives interviewed Identity youth and parents, with the help of our Workforce Development team, when needed for interpretation. The goal was to bring new opportunities and connections to both job-seekers and local employers.
Eight employers participated, representing a wide range of industries:
- A construction company offering roles in building and maintenance
- A hotel staffing company with opportunities in various departments such as catering, administration, cleaning, housekeeping, and maintenance
- A plumbing company seeking skilled tradespeople
- A solar panel company with positions in renewable energy
- Childcare and educational institutions looking for educators and support staff
- A restaurant chain offering roles in customer service and food preparation
- An insurance company offering roles in sales and finance
- A real estate company seeking sales agents and administrative support
Identity Workforce Development staff provided interpretation services, and assistance to job-seekers as they sought to make solid relationships with potential employers.
The Job Fair was funded in part by WorkSource Montgomery’s MoCoYES program to bring job training and opportunities to youth and young adults.
