This Fall, Identity surveyed 470 Latino adults on their Census 2020 intentions at school events, health fairs and other community gatherings both Upcounty and Down County. See the full report here.
The majority say they plan to fill out this important questionnaire – but those on the fence were honest about their reservations. Identity’s census survey uncovered the potential for an alarming undercount – with 9% refusing and 28% not sure they will complete the census. Results indicate that with more information on the community benefits of an accurate count, and the privacy measures built in, a much higher percentage of the community will participate. In fact, preliminary indications from a second survey in progress finds of those who first said they would refuse, 77% were willing to complete the census after an information session with peer educators, re-enforcing the potential of the State and County’s public education campaign.
