On September 20th, Montgomery College and Identity co-hosted an unforgettable Student Recognition event, celebrating 75 dedicated students and Identity clients who recently completed their courses.
The celebration featured several graduates who shared their inspiring testimonials.
One graduate, Arely, shared her transformative experience with Identity. “When the pandemic started, bad things happened, like losing my job, but something good also came from it,” she recounted, describing how participating in Identity’s Parent Leadership Academy had ultimately led her to enroll in a course at Montgomery College. In her heartfelt conclusion, Araly said, “I don’t have enough words to thank Identity and Montgomery College, and I want to encourage my peers to keep preparing themselves and learning new things every day – because here, anything is possible.”
Another graduate, Evelyn, shared how the program had already benefited her career: “Thanks to the program, I was able to get a job as a medical assistant. I start on Monday! I am so grateful for the opportunity Montgomery College gave me. I truly had a lot of fun and, above all, learned a lot.”
Finally, Ruth shared her story of how Identity and MC turned her passion into a profession. “Everyone says follow your passion, but no one really explains how, and that can lead to frustration and spending money you don’t have. With Identity’s guidance, I was able to find my passion and, most importantly, have a clear understanding of what I require to achieve it. That’s how my business, Pink Rabbit, was born. It’s still on early stages but full of dreams, and it will provide support to small business owners who are not very familiar with the digital world, through the creation of websites and social media management, as well as assistance in creating and overseeing projects and events to help launch and grow businesses. In short, I want to help all Latino entrepreneurs who, like me, once had a dream but didn’t know how to achieve it.”
College leadership emphasized that the partnership between Identity and Montgomery College continues to foster an environment of growth, achievement, and community. Dr. Muhammad Kehnemouyi, Dean of Montgomery College’s Rockville Campus delivered congratulatory remarks to students who completed their courses in fiscal year 2024, and Dr. Elena Saenz, Associate Senior Vice President of Academic Partnerships and Programs spoke about the importance of perseverance.
